Theme Parks, Water and Amusement Parks

If you're staying on the French Riviera with kids, sightseeing or even lounging on the beach can get tiresome. When you've had enough, why not try one of the many theme parks that dot the area?

Aqualand - Les Bosquets

Especially in the summertime, Aqualand is just the place to cool off and have fun. Located at Les Bosquets, near St-Raphael and St-Tropez, this park is opened from the beginning of June to the beginning of September and offers water rides and amusements for kids and adults of all ages.

The entrance fees are about 20 Euro per person (with reduced prices for kids), which will get you on the waterslides and to all of the attractions! Be aware that this is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike during the high season, so you may have to wait in lines for some rides.

Aquatica - Fréjus

Just south of the town of Fréjus, you'll find yet another water park, although this one is even bigger! For around the same entry price (give or take a Euro or two), you can visit what claims to be the largest water park on the Riviera, home to several water slides as well as a myriad of other attractions.

Amongst other rides, Aquatica offers a massive wave pool - good for those missing the ocean while spending the afternoons on the lazy beaches of the almost waveless Mediterranean. Aquatica is opened from the beginning of June to early or mid-September, depending on the weather.

Le Labyrinthe de l'Aventure - Villeneuve-Loubet

Le Labyrinthe de l'Aventure is a theme park that allows families to try different game show-like tests and adventures, categorized by color to let you know their level of difficulty. This allows for fun for everyone: the little ones can try some of the simpler tasks, while the adults in the group can delve into those that take a bit more effort.

You will get lost in this labyrinth easily - it truly is a full-day event. Most of the passages in the labyrinth are shaded, but it's definitely recommended to lather the kids up with sunscreen, as several hours in the sun could lead to sunburns. Be sure to wear good shoes and prepare yourself for an afternoon of adventure!

Luna Park - Fréjus

Luna Park in Fréjus is a typical amusement park with rides, fast food and fun for the whole family! An amusement park complete with roller coasters, Luna Park is a great place to spend time with your family, especially those toting along sullen teens. As a bonus, the tourist information office in the nearby town offers discount passes for savings on certain rides or entry prices.
