Antibes Restaurants
Antibes is famous for its rich and famous citizens which means that finding a good meal can be a pricey ordeal - that is, unless you know where to look.
Les Vieux Murs
This restaurant is located within a typical Provencal tavern within the 17th century ramparts of the old seaport. It serves up traditional Provencal fare that varies based upon the season. Pour over the menu with a glass of local white, and try to grab a seat on the glass-encased terrace, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. If you're into seafood, be sure to sample some of the daily offerings here, which are sure to please.
Restaurant de Bacon
This restaurant is not, as its name may suggest to some, devoted to pork products, but to sea products, more specifically, to bouillabaisse. In addition to other seafood entrees like fish of the day, fish soup and fish terrine, this restaurant offers two versions of bouillabaisse, a simple one and a deluxe one with crayfish. Those who don't plan on venturing as far as Marseille on their journey should definitely try the traditional fish stew here, as many claim it's one of the best in all of France. The icing on the cake is the delectable location on a cliff overlooking the area.
La Cafetiere Felee
Vegetarians in France tend to have a difficult time finding a meal they can eat: while vegetarians opting to eat seafood should have no problem on the Riviera, those who have forgone all meat products will be strapped to find anywhere they can order an entrée. Those who visit Antibes, however, are in luck, because La Cafetiere Felee is a fusion restaurant catering to vegetarians. On offer are different curries and a variety of creole cuisine - you can even bring your meat-loving friends, who are sure to find something delicious here.
La Taverne du Saffranier
For large portions of local delicacies, look no further than La Taverne du Saffranier - literally, the saffron tavern, where you'll find bouillabaisse, regional fish soup, plain grilled fresh fish with lemon and other local dishes. Service is warm and friendly, and the restaurant is opened even in winter (except in January). Lunchtime meals here are well-priced and excellent as well.
