Colonial Pub and Hop Store Irish Pub
Irish pubs are a common staple on the Riviera, where British and Irish expats come in on boats or move after years of less-than-stellar weather on the British Isles. Whatever your reason, an Irish pub is one of the most welcoming places to grab a drink and meet a few locals, and they have the added benefit of bartenders who speak fluent English. The Hop Store in Antibes is a local favorite, filled to the brim with expats, especially during football (soccer) games. Grab a beer and a bar stool here and move in for the evening.
Absinthe Bar
France is famous for its absinthe-tinged intellectuals like Charles Baudelaire, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec or Dutch native Vincent van Gogh, who made his home in the south for some time before testing the waters in Paris. While the absinthe that inspired these men and, some say, drove them mad is no longer available, at least in France, this absinthe bar offers more than twenty varieties of absinthe, served the traditional way with water and sugar cubes. Each glass costs a mere 4 Euros (in 2009), which is nothing compared to some of the drink prices down by the beach. The atmosphere is excellent as well - the bar is cozy and has limited seating space, but for the absinthe-enthusiast, there?s nowhere better in Antibes.
La Siesta - Route du Bord de Mer
Nearby Juan-les-Pins may be more hopping when it comes to nightclubs, but you can still dance all night in Antibes: for those who would rather not travel too far, La Siesta is the place to be for party animals. La Siesta is huge, with several dance floors (some out of doors), as well as a restaurant, several bars, and casino machines. You can easily spend your whole night at this one place just by fading back and forth amongst the different areas and options that this nightclub has to offer.
