Monaco / Monte Carlo at Night
Nightlife in Monaco revolves around gambling: the principality is home to decadent casinos. If gambling is your thing, you'll be in heaven in Monaco. If not, you'll still find a few bars to get a (very expensive) drink. Be aware ahead of time that most if not all of the bars and casinos in Monaco have a strict dress code: men should wear jackets and ladies should wear dresses and appropriate footwear (i.e. no sandals).
Monte Carlo Casino
Perhaps one of the most famous casinos in the world, the Monte Carlo Casino has everything you could ask for over the course of a sumptuous night out in Monaco. The casino features gambling rooms which have a strict dress code; if you just want to try out the slot machines, there's a room near the entrance that anyone can use, which is usually filled with tourists.
At night, the casino provides several forms of entertainment aside from these gambling rooms and tables. The Salle Garnier, which is similar in design to the Garnier Opera in Paris, is home to classical music concerts, often featuring the Monte Carlo Philharmonic orchestra.
The casino gardens house a Cabaret during the year from Tuesday to Sunday at 10pm, where you'll bear witness to the glitz and glamor of a true Riviera-style cabaret.
Les Folies Russes
Les Folies Russes is another Monegasque cabaret that can be found in the Grand Hotel of Monaco. Like the casino cabaret, Les Folies Russes offers a dinner option as well as a simple place in the audience for the show, which features not only dancers but vaudeville acts. These shows are expensive, but a cabaret is an authentic experience of the nightlife of Monaco.
Le Box
If you'd rather dance than watch others dance, Le Box is the place for you. On the Avenue Princess Grace, Le Box is a nightclub that only closes when the sun comes up. Make a stop here to meet the rich and famous of Monaco?the infamous yacht owners and near-royalty party here from sundown to sun up. The crowd is usually a high-class group, and everyone here dresses to the nines, so come prepared with your best attire, and be prepared to pay a pretty penny for your drinks, unless you can find someone who will buy them for you.
