Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat Evenings
As opposed to nearby Cannes and Nice, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat doesn't have a bustling nightlife - you're not even allowed to barbecue on the beach, so unless it's the middle of summer, nighttime picnics are pretty chilly. However, there are a few ways to amuse yourself should you decide to spend the evening in this charming fishing village on the Riviera.
Eating on the Port
One of your best options for a nighttime drink in Saint Jean is to have a late dinner at one of the restaurants on the Port. Unlike at American establishments, you'll never be pressured to give up your table once you've paid for a meal or even a drink at a French restaurant or café. Pick one you like and have a leisurely meal followed by an after-dinner drink. When you've watched the sun set, take a long walk along the port or on one of the three beaches that Saint Jean Cap Ferrat has to offer.
Plage la Paloma
Plage la Paloma has been voted one of the 10 best beaches in the area, and while it's gorgeous during the day, it's especially beautiful at night. Take a stroll to the beach in the moonlight and grab a seat on the sandy shore to watch the waves. In the summertime, bring a picnic or some snacks (be sure to clean up after yourselves!) and make an entire evening of it.
Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat
For a classy nighttime experience, try the bar at the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat, one of the most luxurious hotels on the Riviera. The bar, called simply The Bar, was designed by French architect Pierre Yves Rochon - the almost stark white interior is elegant and sophisticated and matches the atmosphere and the drinks on offer. The specialties of the house are Champagne-based cocktails, which you can sip inside the beautiful room or outside if the weather is agreeable. The interior also offers the added bonus of a pianist for entertainment and ambiance.
